I never had realized how many patents there are about PRT's, with that particular keyword or the names of some specific authors.

Looks like I missed the party as far as Heathrow was concerned. Great job.
As far as patents go, I hold one,filed and defended it myself.. So if you find one you wonder about, send it my way and I'll have a look. Most aren't worth the paper they're written on...
Yeah, I've for example found some trying obviously to patent the whole PRT concept. That would never hold, and I am kind of sad for them; wouldn't such an approach render also potentially unique details in the patent irrelevant. Don't know.
The ones I'm going to file myself will be clearly separated, one solution per patent.

Yes, I did. It was pretty similar to third day of PRT@LHR. A broad range of different future transport alternatives were presented. Nothing very extraordinary to me I would say, but most likely good for adding awareness within Finland. There were like 100+ participants, from all around Finnish technology field.

Actually, I was curious if there is any progress on the "EcoTaxi APGM" concept that was studied at TechVilla. Design? Funding? Test facility?
As far as I know, APGM was grounded in 2006. The trails on the Internet fall short.
There were plans to utilize the concept at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport surroundings, between airport and 'Aviapolis' (why on Earth do all names need to be wanna-be-latin/greek... beats me!) That case is still being surveyed but I doubt there's anything remotely like APGM that any Finnish company would be offering.
The person giving the APGM presentation (a lady from Tampere Technical University) did a good job, though. And she pointed out that the study is probably even more relevant now than when it was done in 2005-06. I agree. But don't think of APGM as anything else than a study. We do deserve better is my opinion.
What is failed in APGM technically?
- travel in a tube; causes travel sickness, maybe claustrophobia, the tubes won't remain clear. Bad air all around the year. Really - who came up with THAT? :)
- elevated stations
- heavy guideway (like ULTra) = not that beautiful
The stale air in the tube is just another flavor of PRT.

Hello. This is not exactly on topic but i would like to hear your opinion about the following
I am investigating optimal strategies for conflict-free routing and scheduling of automated guided vehicles in my PhD. As PRT is a possible application of my research, I am following its development with big interest.
I am wondering how pod routing is currently done, what has been written about it if there are open interesting questions.

well, its more that i would like to look at the potentially open questions that are not yet googleable. giving my research an applied direction and possibly support the PRT progresses by doing so
